I have to keep going with this political theme in spite of myself trying not to pay attention anymore because it makes me so angry that I want to punch a puppy in the face.  I know, very few things would make me want to do that.  I love dogs.

I was driving the other day and thinking about the current state of the USA when it dawned on me that we no longer live in a democracy, but a capitalistocracy.  Thinking I was creative for making up a word, I went to UrbanDictionary.com and realized that someone had beat me to it.

Capitalistocracy is defined by UrbanDictionary as:

Any form of government that is controlled by high level bankers and or corporate conglomerates. Either known or unknown by the general public.

That is the USA!  The recent Supreme Court decision to allow unbridled corporate campaign spending cements the notion.  Its not that we didn’t know corporations owned and controlled the government.  Of course corporate interests have been giving money and paying politicians forever, but to have the Supreme Court just open the floodgates.  It’s like nobody gives a shit anymore.  The highest court in the land has been bought and the USA has officially become America, INC.

Stock Market Tip: If the US government starts being traded on the market DO NOT buy.  It is a clunky, nearsighted conglomerate run by buffoons.

I had lunch with a friend the other day and he said: “Our nation is f*cked.  It’s better that everyone just realizes it.”

I hate to say that I think he is correct, but it is difficult to argue.  The vision I conjured in my mind at that moment was of a toilet flushing and a miniature version of the senate circling around in the vortex, but the senators weren’t jumping off.  In fact they were too busy bickering about party politics to realize what was happening.  And, like the entire nation and all its citizens before them, they were sucked into the drainpipe toward the shit tank.

I would like to thank the Supreme Court’s five ill-witted justices for voting yes to uncapped corporate spending.  You are like my friend and realize we are all fucked anyway and that you might as well get your corporate payday along with all the politicians.  After all, nobody ever really lobbied justices…until now.

In light of our capitalistocracy I’ve written a poem:

O’ say can you see

By the dawn’s early light

Five justices voted

To give corporations the right

To buy out the government

And rule over this land

Tis a treasonous act

Where is the hang man?

He’s been bought out too

Well what do you know?

America, INC

Let the cash river flow.

Into the hands

Of those with the might.

Merry corporate state day

Lock up your wallets real tight.

Don't get me wrong, I like capitalism in the free market sense, but the US government should not be up for sale.  What kind of nation will we become?
